Trump Ignores Jewish Victims in Holocaust Remembrance Day Statement
Jewish Dems: We are obligated to never forget. Somehow, they forgot.
Washington, DC – Today, the Trump administration appropriately released a statement recognizing International Holocaust Remembrance Day. However, the statement neglects to mention the Jewish people or the six million Jewish Holocaust victims. In response, the National Jewish Democratic Council released the following statement:
“It is shocking that President Donald Trump failed to acknowledge the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust in today’s White House statement. While it may have been an oversight, we are deeply concerned that the Trump administration still hasn’t issued a clarification. The Holocaust is one of the great acts of evil in human history and we must never forget the capacity of evil doers to commit such atrocities. Along with the millions of other Holocaust victims who were murdered for being who they are, we must never forget that millions of Jews were systematically and brutally murdered based solely off their religion.
“While President Trump and his top advisers have been slow to condemn anti-Semitism and have peddled in anti-Semitic stereotypes in the past, we hope that they fix this wrong by immediately updating the statement and properly serve the memory of those who were murdered in the Holocaust. We are obligated to never forget. Somehow, they forgot.”
