Trump Weak on Anti-Semitic and Other Hateful Rhetoric

June 3, 2016

Washington D.C. - The campaign of presumptive Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump addressed the growing amount of anti-Semitic rhetoric among some supporters, but it did not go far enough. In response to his statement, the National Jewish Democratic Council released the following statement:

“The response from the Trump campaign simply isn’t enough. Trump continues to inspire anti-Semites and he, himself, peddles in racism and anti-Semitic tropes. We are outraged by his demagoguery and hateful rhetoric as Americans, and as a religious minority that throughout history has been the object of similar sentiments, we are horrified.

“Trump’s advisor finally says he condemns the anti-Semitic rhetoric, but Trump still doesn’t condemn it himself and no one in his camp is telling his followers to cut it out.

“This must stop, completely. This cannot become the new normal in American society.”
