Trump Must Address IDF Concerns over Cutting Security Aid to Israel

Jewish Dems Demand that Trump Stands with Israel, Support its Security

Washington, DC – Today, in response to breaking news reports that there is concern among the Israel Defense Forces “that the Trump administration will cut Israel’s security assistance budget,” the National Jewish Democratic Council released the following statement:

“We are alarmed by reports out of Israel that the Trump administration may cut vital security assistance to Israel. We call on President-elect Trump to address the concern from the IDF ‘that the Trump administration will cut Israel’s security assistance budget,’ and commit publically to standing with Israel and address these reports. Trump’s decisions as president-elect when it comes to Israel continue to disturb many in the pro-Israel community. Just this week, President-elect Trump also posted a tweet criticizing the F-35 program as U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter was in Israel to meet with top officials and to celebrate the delivery of the Jewish state’s first F-35 fighter jets. Jewish Republicans who continue to stand with Trump, despite his concerning and inconsistent record on Israel, must put partisanship aside and call President-elect Trump to address this concern from the IDF.”
