
Representative Steve Rothman has served New Jersey's 9th Congressional District since 1997. He has worked hard for a wide range of domestic issues, including improving education, protecting the environment, reforming health care and social security and supporting veterans. Rothman is a strong supporter of Israel and has been deeply committed to Middle East peace. He currently serves on the Appropriations Committee and sits on the Defense, Foreign Operations, and Agriculture, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Subcommittees of the Appropriations Committee. He is also a member of the House Science and Technology Committee's Subcommittees on Space and Aeronautics and Investigations and Oversight. Prior to his election to Congress, Rothman served two terms as the Mayor of Englewood New Jersey and as the Bergen County Surrogate Court Judge Rothman lives in Fair Lawn, New Jersey with his wife Jennifer Beckenstein and five children.
