Jewish Dems Welcome Secretary Clinton to 2016 Campaign

April 12, 2015

Today, as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced her candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016, the National Jewish Democratic Council welcomed her to the race and praised her qualifications for office. The organization pointed to her strong track record in the Senate and State Department, noting her history of supporting the issues most important to American-Jewish voters.

"We are pleased today to welcome a presidential candidate who truly understands the values most important to American Jewish voters. Secretary Clinton not only has been a true and valuable friend to Israel over her long and illustrious career, but also has consistently defended the most vulnerable among us.  She stands with the American Jewish community on creating a better path forward for all Americans, protecting civil rights, ensuring marriage equality and defending the safety and security of the country and all our worldwide allies. We look forward to a spirited primary in which the country will have an opportunity to select the strongest candidate to represent the Democratic Party, and we wish Secretary Clinton the best of luck in the days and months ahead."
