Boteach: Clinton’s Support for the Iran Deal “Leads Directly” to the Tel Aviv Terrorist Attack

June 10, 2016

Washington D.C. - In his latest smear piece, “The Iran Nuclear Agreement Stirred the Tel Aviv Terror Attack,” Rabbi Shmuley Boteach wrote that it “leads directly to the kind of attacks on Jews that we just witnessed in Tel Aviv” when presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton “brags about being the architect, as Secretary of State, of…[the Iran] agreement.”

Last year, Boteach united the Jewish community in denouncing his disgusting ad attacking National Security Advisor Susan Rice. At the time NJDC was joined by other Jewish and pro-Israel groups in speaking out against the ad. AIPAC said that this ad hominem attack has no place in our discourse and the Jewish Federations of North America called the ad “outrageous.” Abe Foxman, then national director of the Anti-Defamation League, described the ad as “perverse, incendiary.” J Street also denounced the ad and AJC said the ad “was way over the top.”

In response to Boteach’s latest attack, the National Jewish Democratic Council released the following statement:

“As Boteach has become more over the top in his partisan attacks against Democrats, he continues to find new ways to offend Jewish Americans. In saying that Hillary Clinton in any way lead ‘directly’ to the Tel Aviv terrorist attack, Boteach has reached a new low – even for him. He should once again apologize for such a disgusting attack, but, most of all, Boteach should try harder to tell the truth and stop making these sort of attacks in the first place. This weekend, as we join our fellow Jews throughout the world to celebrate the unifying central message of Shavuot, we urge Boteach to reconsider his use of the terrorist attack in Tel Aviv as a partisan prop.”
