Never Forget -- Obama, Kerry Issue Statements on Yom Hashoah

On Yom Hashoah, the day of remembrance for victims of the Holocaust, President Barack Obama, Secretary of State John Kerry and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu all issued statements.

Stating that the U.S. stands in solidarity with the Jewish community worldwide, Obama noted that the stories of survivors and their protectors "remind us to confront persecution wherever it arises, and that silence can be an accomplice to evil."

Pointing to the relevancy today of lessons of the Holocaust, Kerry said, "All of us must act to confront discrimination on the basis of race or religion, insist on the rule of law in relations between nations and peoples, and do all we can to uphold the fundamental dignity of every human being."
