Top Energy Department Official also Tweeted Attacks on President Obama as a “Kenyan Creampuff,” Called Japanese Internment Camps “Necessary”
The National Jewish Democratic Coalition is appalled and troubled by the deleted tweets posted by senior Energy Department official William C. Bradford. By tweeting racist, anti-Semitic, and bigoted comments, Bradford shows his true colors.
In February 2016, Bradford tweeted that Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, was a “arrogant self-hating Jew” during the presidential campaign after a tweet of an article claiming that Zuckerberg urged Iowans not to vote for trump. While Bradford identified himself as “a member of the Jewish faith” in his subsequent apology, it remains completely unacceptable for a Jew to call another Jew “self-hating” simply because they didn’t support Donald Trump during the presidential campaign.
A few weeks after the Zuckerberg tweet, Bradford tweeted, “It was necessary. Today is the Anniversary of the Order to Create Japanese Internment camps,” alongside a photo of interned Japanese boys. The internment of Japanese-Americans is wholly unjustifiable and was one of the greatest tragedies in our nation’s history. Bradford also attacked former President Barack Obama by referring to him as a “Kenyan Creampuff.”
These comments by Bradford are wrong, dangerous and, even if they are now deleted, speak to the type of people with which President Trump chooses to surround himself. America is better than this.
