Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and wealthy donors will gather Tuesday night at the home of real-estate investor Harlan Crow and his wife, Kathy for a big-money fundraising reception, hosted under the personal historical collection of Mr. Crow—which includes two landscapes by Adolf Hitler and a signed copy of Mein Kampf.
Wayne Slater of the Dallas Morning News describes other aspects of Mr. Crow’s curated mansion, including a “garden of tyrants:”
Crow has collected busts and statues of famous dictators of the past, which he displays with a certain élan on the lawn. There’s a head of Stalin, a rare statue of Fidel Castro, a towering Lenin and various other bad guys expropriated from their countries of origin.
While criticizing the current administration’s diplomatic efforts resulting in the Iran deal, Rubio will be raising money amidst busts of Lenin, Stalin, Goering, and not one— but two— paintings by Adolf Hitler.
It is largely apparent that Rubio does not have the American people in mind, whether it is his failure to show up during Roll Call votes to serve those who elected him, his stance on women’s rights, his lack of prioritization of climate change or accepting massive campaign financing from individuals whose ethics are blurry at best?
During this holiday season, American Jews gather for continued reflection—we hope Rubio takes a hint and reflects on his questionable political choices.
