Why Would Rep. Bachmann Fears the Census?

According to The Huffington Post, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) has publicly announced that she will not fill out her Census form and asserted on Fox News that Japanese citizens were placed in internment camps because of Census data used by the FBI.

“If we look at American history, between 1942 and 1947, the data that was collected by the Census Bureau was handed over to the FBI and other organizations at the request of President Roosevelt, and that’s how the Japanese were rounded up and put into the internment camps…” Bachmann said.

Bachmann followed up her appearance on Fox News by voicing her opinions on Fox News’ Glenn Beck, claiming that the Census would be an ideal tool to discover the number of “illegal aliens” in the U.S.

Does she realize that the ‘Real I.D. act’ could be used in most states to identify and round people up? Not my own state, thankfully, but several. What is her fear, is she afraid of being classed as ‘illegal’ or just for being somewhat of a nutcase?
