The Star Ledger on NJDC and the N.J. Gov. Race

The New Jersey Star Ledger’s “Auditor,” a column that “keeps tabs on New Jersey’s political scene,” featured NJDC’s efforts in the state’s upcoming elections.

Here’s the excerpt:

Jewish political groups that typically play a role in New Jersey politics are already deep into the governor’s race.

“An effort is being made to get every single vote because everyone has seen the polls,” Linda Berg, political director for the National Jewish Democratic Council, said of recent polls that show Christie ahead of Corzine.

Berg’s organization plans to to send mailers on Corzine’s behalf, run its own ads and make phone calls to Jewish voters.

Christie is trying to counteract the strategy. On the stump, he frequently refers to his childhood in Livingston, a key Jewish community. And just last week, he met with a group of Jewish leaders brought together by the Orthodox Union. Corzine has yet to meet with the group, though a sitdown is being arranged.

Chris Christie is nothing but slime, and all people in NJ, regardless of religion, should see this. His awarding of contracts to his friends reeks of corruption, and his lack of experience at running an economy is not what NJ needs during the current recession. If elected, Christie would go back to the same old tired and failed Republican policies, the same policies that Bush and his cronies used to ruin the US economy.
