Sotomayor Hearing: Live Tweets

This week NJDC has been following the confirmation hearings for Sonia Sotomayor and offering live commentary on Twitter.

Sotomayor has faced tough questions from the committee ranging from her views on judicial philosophy, the much-talked about Ricci case and Senator Jeff Session’s (R-AL) repeatedly returning to the “wise Latina” comment, which Sotomayor referred to as a “rhetorical flourish that fell flat.”

The hearings have had some lighter moments, including Sentaor Ben Cardin (D-MD) extending an invitation for Sotomayor to visit Camden Yards, the home of the Baltimore Orioles, or Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) reminding Sotomayor that a New York player had batted in a Minnesota player during Major League Baseball’s All Star Game.
