The extreme right wing in the Jewish community— both here and in Israel— has totally lost it. They have built an entire fantasy about President Barack Obama. As far as these people are concerned, they do NOT introduce any facts into the discussion about Obama.
You do not need to go any further than one sentence in a recent op-ed by Yoram Ettinger in Ynet on October 12, 2009 to find clear evidence of this craziness.
In discussing the Chairman of the Noble Committee, Thorbjorn Jagland, Ettinger states:
He is, also, the Chairman of the “Oslo Center for Peace and Human Rights,” which advocates a Dovish-Leftist world view, in cooperation with former President Jimmy Carter, who is close to President Obama and a role-model for the new Nobel Laureate.
Since when is former President Jimmy Carter close to Obama? It does not take a PhD in American Politics to know that Carter is not close to ANY of his successors— let alone the current occupant in the White House. But why let little facts get in the way when you have got an ideological point to prove.
