Marc R. Stanley, Chairman of the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC), and Ira N. Forman, Executive Director of NJDC, released the following statement:

President-elect Barack Obama made an excellent pick of Governor Bill Richardson (D-NM) for Secretary of Commerce. Obama’s selection of Richardson shows that the new administration will be fully prepared to face America’s economic woes from Obama’s first day in office.

Richardson joins a great team of Obama’s economic advisers and cabinet officers who have the ability and experience to improve our economy.
