Outgoing Alaska governor Sarah Palin has rejected claims that she violated ethics laws by allowing political supporters to establish a legal defense fund for her.
CNN.com reported that Palin claims she did not establish the fund, control its operations or receive any money from the fund.
Palin, Senator John McCain’s (R-AZ) running mate in the 2008 Presidential campaign, announced earlier this month that she was resigning from office and according to CNN.com, “cited the cost of battling ethic complaints,” as a motivating factor to leave office
The legal fund in question, the Alaska Fund Trust, was formed by Palin supporter Kristan Cole in April 2009, according to CNN.com. The fund bills itself as “the official legal fund to defend…current Governor Sarah Palin.”
