According to recent reports, President Barack Obama will be mediating talks between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the next few weeks. The talks will be the first time that Obama, Abbas, and Netanyahu meet together at the same time, and pundits from around the internet are writing some interesting things in support of peace:
- JTA’s Ron Kampeas makes his predictions for the month ahead, which include direct talks between Obama, Netanyahu, and Abbas
- Professor Alon Ben-Meir writes in The Jerusalem Post that Palestinian President Salaam Fayaad’s institution building initiatives will have a greater success rate once talks resume
- Also in JTA, and The Jerusalem Post, Israeli and Palestinian Mayors have started to cooperate on industrial projects that will help plant the seeds of peace at the local level in northern portions of Israel and the West Bank
