Today, Marc R. Stanley, Chairman of the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC), and Ira N. Forman, Executive Director of NJDC, released the following statement:

Today, President-elect Barack Obama announced outstanding selections for his economic team, including Timothy F. Geithner, Secretary of the Treasury; Lawrence H. Summers, Director of the National Economic Council; Christina D. Romer, Director of the Council of Economic Advisors; Melody C. Barnes, Director of the Domestic Policy Council; and Heather A. Higginbottom, Deputy Director of the Domestic Policy Council. This economic team will bring a depth of experience and have shown a precise understanding of how to jump-start the American economy.

With this new economic team, Obama’s administration will not only have the ideas to address the serious problems America is facing but will be able to implement new policies from Obama’s first day in office.
