Obama Speaks with Rabbis; Biden Hosts Rosh Hashanah Gathering

As has become an annual tradition at this time of the year, President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden have extended their personal wishes for Rosh Hashanah and opened themselves up to the Jewish community.

In addition to releasing his celebratory statement about Rosh Hashanah, Obama held a conference call with Rabbis to discuss the newly re-started Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

Biden held his second annual Rosh Hashanah gathering at the Naval Observatory that was attended by a diverse group of Jewish communal leaders. Among those in attendance were NJDC President and CEO David A. Harris and his wife, Megan Draheim; NJDC’s Immediate Past Chair Michael M. Adler; NJDC Vice-Chair for Development and Democratic National Committee At-Large member Stephen Bittel; and NJDC Executive Committee member and DNC At-Large member Sunita Leeds along with her husband, Dan.

Below is a photo of Harris and Draheim with Biden from the event.

What a great photo of Biden, Harris, and his wife. Thanks to NJDC for much-needed work at this time that is so critical for Democrats just before the off-year election. Might some future NJDC blog list the Democratic Jewish candidates for Congress in Nov.? Or put that on your website?
