NJDC fondly remembers Elizabeth Edwards today and extends deep condolences to her family.
Elizabeth inspired the nation as she courageously battled cancer in recent years, and fought publicly for improvements to our national health care system and health insurance reform—and on behalf of so many other progressive causes—at the same time. A successful attorney and powerful intellect in her own right, she displayed incredible grace in the face of personal tragedy, talking openly about the loss of her son—providing an open example for all of us to follow. Her warmth and wit, as well as her unique contribution to the American political conversation, will be deeply missed.
An article about the life of Elizabeth Edwards appears in The Washington Post here, and in The New York Times here.
