NJDC extends a hearty Mazel Tov to our close friend and supporter Florida State Senator Ted Deutch for his victory last night in the FL-19 primary. Deutch is seeking to fill the House vacancy left by Representative Robert Wexler’s retirement. Upon hearing the news of Deutch’s victory Representative Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, released a statement that said:

Congratulations to State Senator Ted Deutch. State Senator Deutch is an accomplished lawmaker who has led the fight to strengthen economic security for Florida’s middle class families, protect seniors and improve health care in Florida. We are confident that the people of Florida’s 19th district will elect Ted Deutch as their next representative because they know that he will stand on their side and against special interests. We look forward to working with him over the months ahead to ensure that he is elected the next Congressman from Florida’s 19th District.
