Yesterday, NJDC said that Monday’s protest against Ahmadinejad was too important to be tainted by partisanship. Today, NJDC commends the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations, the National Coalition to Stop Iran Now, The Israel Project, United Jewish Communities, the UJA-Federation of New York and the Jewish Council for Public Affairs for making the right decision by withdrawing their invitation to Governor Sarah Palin. This decision shows that bi-partisan solidarity against President Ahmadinejad has won out over partisanship - even in this highly charged election year.
Palin had a brilliant speech to support the protest:

Her recent popularity would have brought so much light to the focus of the protest.
How short sided are we that Hillary would distance herself from a fellow accomplished God fearing woman, to only squander the bipartisan opportunity to publicly and equivocally reject the musings of a man who condones the most abhorrent treatment of women?
The world was watching and the only quotes that made headline’s were that of the President of Iran.
It’s quite clear that the NJDC and Mrs. Clinton were the ones who made this a partisan issue.
It seems to me that withdrawing Sarah Palin’s invitation was the most partisan action in this whole affair. Having high profile representatives from both parties would show true bipartisan support for this cause. NJDC has done nothing but show its true interest.
