Netanyahu: “Two States for Two Peoples”

As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu celebrates his 100th day in office, he reiterated his support for pursuing peace with the Palestinians. In an address to his Cabinet, Netanyahu remarked that he endorses the notion of “two states for two peoples.”

An excerpt:

He told the weekly Cabinet meeting that Israel supports the concept of “two states for two peoples.”

The Cabinet met on Mr. Netanyahu’s 100th day in office, and he said the greatest achievement of his government, so far, is the agreement on the issue of Palestinian statehood.  It is a major about-face for a man who has long opposed a Palestinian state and supported Jewish settlement in all the biblical Land of Israel

Rather than a 2 state solution perhaps a 3 state solution should be considered:  Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza.  That might dilute hamas and give more credence the fatah movement.

A state for the Palestinians? Where, in what will be left of their part in the area after the US stops paying for the building of more settlements?

I think it great that Mr Netanyahu has said that he would support a Palestinian state. I hope this is right because this could bring complete peace to Isreal
