NJDC Leaders Meet Key Officials in DC

On Wednesday and Thursday, members of NJDC’s leadership came to Washington, DC to meet with key officials from the Obama Administration and the Democratic Party.

On Wednesday, NJDC leaders met with senior White House officials and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Wednesday night, NJDC presented former Representative Jane Harman (D-CA) with its inaugural Tzedek Award. NJDC established the Tzedek Award to honor those who have promoted justice—tzedek—through public service. Representatives Howard Berman (D-CA) and Nita Lowey (D-NY) attended the event and shared stories about their work and personal friendships with Harman.

On Thursday, NJDC leadership had breakfast with Democratic National Committee Chair Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz and met later with Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chair Steve Israel. The group also attended meetings with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack.
