NJDC Statement on the Appointment of Representative Steve Israel as the Chairman of the DCCC

National Jewish Democratic Council President and CEO David A. Harris issued the following statement congratulating Representative Steve Israel (D-NY) on his appointment as Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC):

We wish a hearty mazel tov to Representative Steve Israel for being chosen by Speaker Nancy Pelosi to serve as the Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in the 112th Congress. Speaker Pelosi has made an excellent choice; like so many others who have worked closely with Rep. Israel, we know him to be a true leader who will help to spread both Democratic and Jewish values. We look forward to continuing to work closely with him in the coming months.
