According to Haaretz, Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad said that Jews would enjoy full civil rights in a future Palestinian state.
Fayyad speaking Saturday at Aspen Institute’s Ideas Festival, responded to a question from former C.I.A. director James Woolsey, saying that Jews who stayed in a Palestinian state, “will not enjoy any less rights than Israeli Arabs enjoy now in the state of Israel.”
Following Fayyad’s remarks Saturday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu marked his 100th day in office today, reiterating his support for negotiations with the Palestinians as well as “two states for two peoples.”
I wouldn’t describe Israeli Arabs as having full civil rights, and I doubt Fayyad or Netanyahu would either.
