Daschle a Strong Choice to Lead HHS

Marc R. Stanley, Chairman of the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC), and Ira N. Forman, Executive Director of NJDC, released the following statement:

Today, President-elect Barack Obama made an outstanding selection in nominating former Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle for Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).

An estimated 46 million Americans are without health insurance and millions more have inadequate health insurance coverage. We must start finding solutions to solve our health care crisis. With a new administration and Daschle’s leadership, the prospect for real health care reform has never looked better.
