Omri Casspi looks to make history after being selected 23rd by the Sacramento Kings in last week’s NBA draft.

Casspi is described by ESPN’s Chad Ford as “a very tough, scrappy, slashing player,” and by selecting Casspi, Sacramento is “trying to add some toughness.”

As a first round selection, Casspi is guaranteed a two-year contract and when he takes the court next season, will be the first Israeli player to play in the NBA.

Casspi led Maccabi Tel Aviv to the title this season, and according to Ynet he will wear number 18 for Sacramento.
