Judaism = Baggage for NY Sen Candidate?

With all the attention on who will not be New York’s next Senator, I was alerted to a brief profile of another potential candidate - Rep. Steve Israel. In a January 3rd New York Times article titled, “From the Sidelines, Top Contenders for Clinton’s Senate Seat Emerge,”  Israel’s Judaism is listed as “baggage.”

Baggage? Really?

(Despite the poor word choice, the piece gives a good overview of some of the people under consideration and is worth a quick read.)
