Obama Stresses Middle East Peace, Halting Iranian Nukes to Mubarak

Today, David A. Harris, President of the National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC), released the following statement:

In President Barack Obama’s meeting with President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt today, Obama once again displayed his commitment to Israel’s security and dedication to pursing Middle East peace.

Obama continued to demonstrate the very high priority his administration places on stopping Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons and stressed his concern regarding this existential threat to Israel.

Whether Obama is addressing Arab, Israeli, or Jewish community leaders, he clearly stands for Israel’s peace and security - and is not afraid to say so.

I am glad to see NJDC take a positive stance in regard to Obama.  The previous admin muddied the waters and fostered greater tensions.  It is necessary that a approach that embraces both sides of the conflict be heeded, for otherwise it is more of the same as the last 50 years.
