Two Views on the Administration’s Durban II Policy

Last week, Ira Forman wrote in the Huffington Post about the irrationality of President Barack Obama’s Jewish right-wing critics who refuse to see any actions by this administration as positive.  Below are two responses to the administration’s decision to boycott the upcoming Durban II conference in Geneva.

AJC has commended President Obama for today’s decision to disengage from the Durban Review Conference.

“President Obama has courageously – and appropriately – concluded that the conference does not merit U.S. involvement unless it totally reverses its current direction, away from the Israel-   bashing festival which so many of us are expecting,” said AJC Executive Director David A. Harris.

Anne Bayefsky of the Hudson Institute wrote the following response in a piece on Forbes.com.

Barack Obama just added double-dealing to his foreign policy repertoire…Instead of leadership and clarity of convictions, the U.S. has started a race to the bottom of the diplomatic barrel.

We leave it to our readers to decide who has the most credibility when it comes to assessing this administration’s performance.
