Sixty-nine law school deans have endorsed Solicitor General Elana Kagan’s nomination to the Supreme Court. In a letter written to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy, the dean of Stanford Law School, Larry D. Kramer, stated that Kagan has a great “understanding of both doctrine and policy.” In the same letter Kramer wrote that Kagan was a successful dean at Harvard Law School, “because of her willingness to listen to diverse viewpoints and give them all serious consideration.”
